Historic schools throughout Wyoming, including those in LIngle, Sundance, and Casper are threatened either to be demolished or to be converted to uses other than public education.
University of Wyoming professor Mary Humstone will conduct a state-wide Video Conference on the value of older school buildings to our communities. This Video Conference will discuss how schools are routinely deemed unfit for school use without consideration that they could be rehabilitated at a fraction of the cost of new construction. The discussion will also cover how these historic schools link generations of students, provide community value, and provide information on what citizens can do to save their historic schools.
