WHAT A YEAR!
As we look forward to a new year, we pause to express gratitude for the many blessing we received last year through the generosity and support of our community. In 2008, our emerging Cadoma Foundation made great strides toward preserving Wyoming’s heritage.
Our accomplishments are many; here are just a few that really stand out....
· The Cadoma Foundation officially received a charitable non-profit determination as defined in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code on June 7, 2006.
· During our first year of operation, The Cadoma Foundation was pleased to accept custodial ownership of the Bishop Home located in Casper, Wyoming.
· Since assuming ownership of this historic home, over 3,580 people visited and participated in events such as Teas, Local Artists’ Shows and Sales, Small Weddings Birthday Celebrations, High School Reunion Activities and other private events.
· In appreciation for the community support, a Donor Reception and wine tasting was held in July 2008.
One of our major goals for 2008 was to start the restoration process of this historically significant home. In November we completed the construction to reopen the central hallway and reconstruct the main floor restroom. The original second floor bathroom is under restoration and will be completed by the end of the year.
Future restoration plans for the Bishop Home include a sustainability demonstration project to restore the air flow of the home to its original “green” standards, repairing its 100+ years of plaster cracks, and upgrading the kitchen to accommodate small catering functions and still maintain the historic character of the home.
As we continue to make The Bishop Home available for tours, afternoon teas, anniversaries, receptions, bridal and baby showers, business meetings and more – we thank the individuals and corporations who have contributed and supported us in the past. We look forward to your continued support and interest as we work to preserve the Bishop Home and raise the consciousness of the need for historic preservation in Wyoming. We are an all volunteer board. All donations are tax deductible and used to support the ongoing operations and restoration of the Bishop Home and the development of the Cadoma Foundation. The Cadoma Foundation welcomes the opportunity to send acknowledgments for donations made in memory, in honor, or in celebration of special people and events in our lives.
Your continued support is greatly appreciated!
